Hierarchical Computing

Theory, experiment, and computer simulation define predictive science today. However, today's calculation methods cannot simultaneously meet the growing complexity of application-relevant systems and implement context-dependent prediction and reliability goals in a resource-conscious way. Hierarchical methods are developed to cope with upcoming challenges in predictive simulations for applications in engineering and science.
